AWeber basically offers everything your heart desires and is always up to date. In this respect, I find it difficult to mention something in my definition of "special functions" ... really innovative ideas that are nowhere else available (as with click-tip example), I do not come to mind, but as a customer of AWeber you have always the feeling of being at the river of time and certain functions in front to get everyone else (for example, the integration of social networks comes to mind).

AWeber calls on request also by phone, but had that time with me (maybe because I'm from Germany?) Does not work (we had not tried at that time but also because I prefer chatting - so I could my English sentences in Formulate rest;)).

Annoying is only the time difference. From Monday to Friday, support is available from 8 am to 8 pm - after the American time. After our time, the live chat is then available from about 14 or 15 clock (depending on whether summer or winter time is with us). As you can see, sometimes your hands are tied a bit in the morning, while you could actually be productive and just wait for support ...

But AWeber for smaller lists by the price graduation is more attractive than click tip without such a staggering.

Criticism:

I found four major criticisms:

First of all, AWeber stupidly lists all the e-mail addresses that have ever been entered in your list (s). This means that if you do not manually delete the addresses that have been removed from your list, then these addresses are included.

Example:


As mentioned above, you pay $ 19 for up to 500 recipients. If you now have 460 active recipients and 100 people who have played, then these 100 count. So there are 560 people in your list and you would pay $ 29 a month instead of $ 19.

As I said, this can be prevented by regular, manual deletion of such "borderline cases". But strange and annoying is the side AWebers already ...

The second point concerns the English language. For AWeber is not only the backend English, but also the confirmation email. This one can edit, but only limited: A certain text block is and remains given by AWeber and can not be translated into German.

Despite many opinions that I've heard that would significantly lower the confirmation rate, I can not tell. For some months now I use the German provider Klick-Tipp and could find no difference in the confirmation rate compared to before, when I was with AWeber. In that sense, this point may be bearable.

One point is still there: The subject line of the confirmation email must be checked and approved before the activation of AWeber. Firstly, it costs time, and secondly, sometimes (I have the impression, depending on the support staff) subject lines are rejected, but they have been approved for other lists. Annoying.

And finally, AWeber as an English-speaking provider has problems with German umlauts. In the subject line of the confirmation email, one can bypass this by using the HTML code for the respective umlaut (for example, Ä for Ä). But if you include the names of the interested parties and someone is called "Jürgen", then this "ü" in the name will not be displayed correctly in case of automatic personalization of the emails.

It is a pity that these points still exist after many months (years?) And AWeber apparently sees no reason to mend.

  • Comprehensive functions that leave practically nothing to be desired and

  • always on the "pulse of the times"

  • Comprehensive support (videos, blog, webinars, live chat ...)


Cons:

  • Complete English

  • All e-mail addresses are counted and you pay even for discharged addresses if you do not delete them manually

  • Confirmation mail subject must always be enabled first, which may lead to delays because of the time lag

  • Other languages are not supported
